Hi ESPImperium & Guys
I have been predicting this for a while now. In fact here in Australia, those that are in the know, seem to be asking from $240-250au and up for a CE-2. Some not even in boxes or with manuals, and some with many war wounds. (cement mixer paint jobs )

Franzoni... I can tell you they are sweet. Really evokes the 70s/80s. Even Mrs. Laurie likes the new CE-2 - especially after I told her it is based on an amplifier called a "Jazz Chorus"... she loves jazz

Hi Guys I stand correct on my previous post ealier today, regarding the price of CE-2's in the $240-250au price range.
I just found this on very-evilbay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Boss-Chorus-CE-2-Made-In-Japan-RARE_W0QQitemZ120247538401QQihZ002QQcategoryZ41413QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Yes he's asking $299au starting price. It looks like a long-dash, doesn't mention or show if it's a SS, or if has the box & Manual
Looks pretty clean... Except for this Bulldust. ---quote--- One thing that is loved about this pedal is that there is a internal trim pot easily adjustable inside the unit that you can change to vary the amount of chorusing, so if you own one of these and want it to be more extreme than adjust the pot with a small flathead screwdriver. Its easy to do. ---end quote---

I think now i have uncovered some gold there in my CE-2.
Id love to see a guide to pedal prices on this board, something that gives a good guide to all the pedals that Boss has made and what price you should expect to pay.
Another thing i just dont understand about Boss is why they dont do a range of "Vintage Reissue" pedals, basically a range of arround maybes 10 to 12 pedals with the sound of the old pedals, but with new apointments with power supplied by 9V PSA power and not the old 9V ACA power.
It would be comercial gold for Boss, even if they only made a limited number of them, maybes say 10,000 each model. |

there are a few pedals that only had 10,000 made each total.
i honestly don't foresee reissues from them as it would almost be admitting that the new "cutting edge" technology isn't as good or well-liked as the originals. it would also be kind of a bummer imo if the made in taiwan reissues turned out to sound not nearly as good as the originals (such as many of the behringer clones).
seeing as they have never had a reissued pedal and the trend with their newer pedals to increase user control rather than decrease it, i'm guessing we'll see a CE-6 before a CE-2 reissue.
also, a handful of the IC chips used in many of the more desirable older pedals no longer exists.
i could be wrong about this (and i hope to be wrong)...
a price guide would be interesting but prices flux so much seasonally and geographically that there's only really ballpark figures to throw out there as well as "you can get one at any time for this price" vs. "if you are patient you can get one for this price."

Not to take this too far off topic... Interestingly, fabrication of the older chips and trasistors is "easy" these days. We were routinely making 20 year old design FETs in the university lab 20 years ago (so they would be 40 year old designs now - perfect for pedals). It's almost doable by at the hobby level (by someone very determined, I'll grant you). My point is that if there was a demand for the old chips, they can be made. As they say, it aint rocket science.
Agreed though with zentorpa's take on the trend. How long until we see a "POD-in-a-pedal" from boss?
