I just received a catalogue from 1990. Check out the scan of the then brand new PN-2 below. Wise choice to put Specifications and appearance subject to change without notice under the text.

The whole catalogue will be added to the catalogue pages as soon as I've scanned it. |

Hi Bossarea & Guys
What a neat find. I wonder if any were actually shipped with that name?

That's some interesting info .
Does the picture look like it's been photoshoped or airbrushed ? If not there's at least one prototype

| Great find. Never even heard of it. You would have thought that somebody would have sneaked one out of the factory. |

A 'wing span' would sound more like a DC-2/3 I guess |

What would "Swan Ping" sound like, the last few notes of "the dying swan ballet"? |

a VERY old deleted product code @ my work says "PN-2 Swing/Pan" - so it must have been sent to retailers as part of the price list before the name change took effect.
Now I'm looking more carefully at it.. Some of these Taiwan pedals are piquing my curiosity a little.. (EH-2 on the way..) |

Hi verivorax
Just a thought: Are you able to get a scan of that old price list?
That is if it doesn't get you in any kind of trouble, or is against company policy. It would be nice to tie the two documents together here on the forum, as part of Boss historical facts-figures-changes.

Hi Dr.Bob,
Sorry, I don't have access to the complete list, only the "obsolete" and "discontinued" codes which are no longer used by the computer (alongside the new ones). The Swing/Pan is one of only a handful of codes whose names were changed to include an apostrophe: " 'PN-2 " so that they could be replaced with another (in this case, the same PN-2 code but bearing the revised pedal name in the description field).
I'll let you know the price it says.. it freaked me out to see that we must have blown PQ-4s out as some unsellable oddity. Final price before it was discontinued? $26.95. Wish I was there for that sale. |

I mailed a few times with him, very nice guy, I'll send him a mail tommorow and ask him if he knows more about this PN-2, since he works at Roland Germany he should know a bit more, maybe. |
