I got some inside info on an advert coming in probably May/June
The advert will be featuring a few pedals I didn't know the existence of.
As far as I understood it's a picture with 3 pedals:
The gold plated 6.000.000 units sold DS-1 The chrome plated 8.000.000 units sold MT-2 and The platinum blue 10.000.000 units sold BD-2
I got my tissues ready I think this is really cool and the only chance to see these beauties I guess. |

| I am actually a bit surprised that the MT-2 and BD-2 have eclipsed the DS-1 in sales because the DS-1 has been around longer than those 2 pedals, but I guess it makes sense as well because I could see DS-1 sales tapering off a bit since BOSS offers so many distortion and overdrive choices since the creation of the DS-1... |

| Those numbers are the total amount of pedals sold. 6.000.000 was a few years ago. To celebrate that amount a few gold plated DS-1's were made (There's a picture in the boss book). When Boss hit the 8.000.000 barrier they made a few chrome plated MT-2's (which I didn't know 'till today) and now the made a Platinum blue BD-2 to celebrate 10.000.000 units sold. |

| Were these special pedals sold to the public, or were they just a promotion? |

As far as I understood they were only shipped to the overseas joint venture firms (this is what the bossbook says as well as my German contact)So one to Roland/boss USA, one to Roland Germany etc. So just a few were made I guess.

My mistake, I thought you meant that the specific model pedal sold that many units... |

I cant understand why MT-2 sold more than DS-1. DS-1 is a pedal that people love (dont worry people I didnt frget OD-1 and SD-1 but Im only talking about Ds-1 on my post)! A lot of amazing guitar players have one like Eric Johnson, George Lynch, Gary Moore (he used to have it on his pedalboard for years!)... Im really, really surprised. |

Those are total amounts of all compact pedals sold, not the individual amounts |
