In general I would like to know if there is a large group of people collecting Ibanez pedals??
I know the hunting of the Tube screamers, but the other ones???
I ask because I think I have a quite rare pedal, Ibanez CCL Dual chorus (L-series), and I have a hard time selling it here in Sweden even at about $60.

Hi Goran
I have been collection Ibanez pedals
I like the the BC10 bass Chorus, it sounds Awesome with guitar.

I have an SS10 Dual pedal, Chorus & Distortion, not too many people know about the SS10. (Pink colored case)

I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time selling your CCL Dual chorus.

I have a small collection of the Soundtanks,
I really like the soundtanks, everyone craps on them for being plastic,
well that are actually made from a black ABS, & that's a very tough industrial plastic.
I will admit, that the micro switches under the stomp pedal, are VERY small & seem to be fragile, but I haven't yet broken one.

I recently got a CP5 compressor, this leaves my CS-3 for dead.
I am still trying to get a good setting for my new Soundtank PL5 - Power Lead pedal.

Regards Dr. Bob

Thanks Dr Bob!
I dont collect Ibanez but I also have TS-5 and like it. I have bought some Ibanez when they were dirt cheap, to trade or sell later.

I do.

I got several of them, maybe in fact as many as Boss. From vintage ones (the first "Overdrive", which is a fuzz) to Soundtanck serie.

My favourites are the L series. As good as the previous series, somethimes better (the PQL s a MUST HAVE !!), in a classy black housing. I could easily imagine a whole setup in Ibanez L series, as well as a whole setup in Boss.

Theyr double choruses are just HUGE...

Dr.Bob, don't you talk about the SS10 (Session Man) ? I got the SS20, Session Man II, distortion + delay. Fun pedal, when you slow the delay down, you can hear the clock of the BBDs...

Goran : your CCL is interesing me. I am broke for now, but when things are better with my bank, I would gladly buy it.

Hi basstyra & guys
Yes you are correct, it was the SS10, Session Man.
I went back & edited the post, to the correct SS10.

No wonder, no-one has ever heard of the SSl10? It doesn't exist,
I guess I was a bit tired, when I wrote the post.

Basstyra, do you have any of the Ibanez compressors? Do you like-recommend any of them.
There is a CP9 on evilbay here in Oz, I was thinking of getting.
But I don't know which VCA it uses, maybe it's the same as the one in my SoundTank CP5.
I would love to see a pic of just your SoundTanks..

Did you get my PM to your hotmail account.?

Regards Dr. Bob

Yes, I got it. I didn't take the time to read it yet, I was busy those days. I'll have a look at it soon.

I had the CP-9, it's good. I have the CPL and CP10, which are almost the same, and very close to the CP9. I like them, I tend to prefer my new CS-2, but they are better than the CS-3, taht's for sure.

It' a LM13600 OTA in the CP-9.

Mine can be seen there (I got new ones since) : http://basstyra.free.fr/matos/effets/collec_280107.jpg

Concerning the 5 serie, there is : Autowah, Bass Compressor, Stereo Chorus, Digital delay, Powerlead, Tube Screamer, 60's Fuzz.

I've got a couple of Ibanez pedals, the DFL flanger and the FC10 ('FatCat') distortion, and I like them so much that I'm always on the lookout for more. But they have to be cheap 'cause I'm poor...
Love the flanger- very 'hollow' and wild and the FatCat sounds VERY RAT-like, just my 2 cents...
Cheers!

I like the AD-80 analog delays, not just the sound but also the look of them, they're sort of addictive. I like the weight of them (not that it has anything to do with the sound) - they feel like they are indestuctible but I think the reality is they can be damaged easily if dropped due to the alloy used. This is the only pedal of which I have more than one, and probably ever will, though multi TW-1's always intrigued me, maybe one day..
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k134/redxxvi/boss/three_ad-80s.jpg

The ones I have all sound a bit different, though I haven't had too much time to experiment yet, maybe they are the same but need different knob settings to get the same sounds.
One in particular is crazy, even at 12-o'-clock settings it squeals & whoops - maybe someone changed the trimpot settings but I don't mind - I love it. I now know why they are sometimes called 'Amp Destroyers', if they get into a feedback loop the volume rises at an alarming rate sending me diving for the off switch.

They were all made by Maxon, and I think they're all around 1981 timeframe going by the serials, slight differences in cosmetic design (markings around the knobs, and Maxon Vs Ibanez logos). There are other varieties out there, early ones had a 'Registered Trademark' circle after the Ibanez logo, plus I have seen versions in a narrow box, both square switch and regular switch. There is also the Maxon reissue (with stereo outputs) in an MXR-style box. They take 2 9-volt batteries, or an 18-volt adaptor, though from what I've read online I believe the pedal actually operates internally at 12-volts. I'm using batteries at the moment (found some zinc-carbon ones today in a 99p shop) though I'll probably move over to an adaptor in the future due to running-costs

Someone on another site has many clips of several of these pedals played singly or together, I'd like to do similar experiments and see what sounds appear. I don't have any other Ibanez pedals, but would maybe like to try others in this series in the future, either that or an AD-900 (like I need another delay...)

Nice AD80's Guirat, I'm jealous...

I'm also found of old Ibanez pedals, and I especially love my FL301DX

A question: what's the difference with the FL301 ?

And also, what I like the most with Ibanez pedals is the fact that their look has changed several times, it 's very fun in the collector's point of view !

Does anyone have one of those Ibanez LF-7 Lo-Fi majiggers? They seem really cool as a filter and they have a fuzz too which is always good.

Hi tomwest

Do yop mean the:
Ibanez LF-7 Lo-Fi majiggers
or the:
Ibanez LF-7 Lo-Fi Thinga - majigger.

It's been years, since I've heard someone use that term, TomWest.
we also have whatsit and thinga mabob
but, they are very rare buggers, over here as well.

Also a just remembered the Howsit and the Roundtoit.

HI nibla,
FL301 = 18V
FL301DX = 9V
I have both, but haven't ABd them. But I'd say that they don't differ in sound.
Regards,
Michael

Glad you like them Nibla, I don't have any pets at home so they act as replacements

There's a great site, link posted previously by bossarea, which has a catalogue depicting all the vintage Maxon pedals (very similar to the Ibanez ones that Maxon also made). Definitely worth checking out:
http://www14.plala.or.jp/Acrosstheborder/catalog.html#MAXON

I think there are 7 or 8 (maybe even more) slight variations on the AD-80. I think if I get other pedals though I will be trying different effects.
