Anal GAS? Hmmm, that doesn't sound good...hey I just discovered something crazy - if you don't have the box for your Boss compact pedals, well, they fit perfectly in the box for Ferraro Rocher (or even better in Canada, President's Choice Hazelnut Chocolates)...check it out...

Bizarrely someone pointed this out to me only a few days ago, I don't have boxes for a few of my pedals and they get dusty rather quickly, but I don't think we have any handy in the house |

We're a strange breed, we pedalphiles...you'll gain a few pounds (and spend a few, too) but get eating those chockies... |

Good idea! Obviously it's a job to do for those pedals that I don't use it, I can't detache from pedalboard, remove the cables, put inside the boxes... and to the exact reversed operation anytime that I used it?!
TO remove the dust from the "evereyday" pedals I used my old shave brush, enough hard to remove the dust, enough soft to protect from scratch and avoid to move the settings of the knobs.

Hi 4evrnewB
From your quote above --
Great idea the cases ......
Speaking of GAS & being anal... Where do you then store the pedals, plastic cases?

What a great idea, and an excuse to buy chocolates and buy more pedals if you have extra boxes |

What about Eggboxes, chocolateboxes, all sorts really.
Okay does not look good, but it protects and that what it needs to do in the first place!!

Are you serious that you do not change the SETTINGS on your pedals? How can you play man?? Do you play in the same band all the time??
I need to change my settings all the time, for myself, and when I play with others, because the dynamics are always different. Even playing in the same band, any venue will need different volume-levels, so settings of pedals and amps change all the time.
As time goes by, you get to know what works, and you will get to know your pedals insideout for what they can- and cannot do.
Also changing settings, you get to know your pedals better, as you stumble upon different sounds.
Same goes for patching different combinations of pedals, keep experimenting as one can never really get to know all the sounds which are hidden in these little metal creatures. |

Hi~ Fabius - I knew I got it wrong - Ferrero - thanks! Visserman - you're right - a lot of boxes would work, I just like how tightly these fit. You might notice in my drawer also a case from some sort of woman's cosmetic product (or baby bum-wipes!). Dr. Bob - here's where I keep my stash (for now). It's mostly to keep them out of the way, out of my fiancee's eye-shot - still learning how to play, what sound I'm looking for, what pedals will do it...keepers will go to my first (real) board, others I will sell to fuel my GAS...pedal my petrol...(I took a few out so you could see the plastic cased ones - and I have too many to fit anyway!!)

visserman thanks for the suggests, you know, I'm a newbie...
No, I don't need to change settings 'cause I've gained MY sound (for the moment), the only changes are in the OD3 and DS1 volumes 'cause the differences from house to rehearsal room. At home I have a JCM900 100w combo and in rehearsal room I use an Hughes&Kettner dunno the model but isn't a combo.
Anyway, I play occasionally just to substitute some member of the group when miss, I just sing and I have only one group... musical company. I would like to do a southern-metal tribute band (Blackfoot, Pride&Glory, Molly Hatchet...) but: I haven't time and here in Italy it's a genre not quite known. In some parts of Germany it's a cult!
Last but not least: I'm old and I can't remember all the settings if moved. |

Hi 4evrnewB & guys
Just as a quick heads up....
After work today, I checked the price of the Ferrero Choc's in that same size box. Seems our local supermarket (Coles for all you Folks from Oz) is asking $9.45, for the 8 in a plastic box Ferrero's.
Now I don't get these very often, usually a special only on special occasions. But I thought it was a little too steep...
I guess I might have to start asking for Ferrero's as brides & part payment for small repairs & favors.
4evrnewB, what do they cost where you live?
Regards Dr. Bob

Man! Down in Oz you folks get what we Canucks call "hosed" on the price of things!!
Rioght now things are on the after-Christmas sale, but the 16 pak of F-R are something like $5.99 (so I wouldn't buy just for the box), but the store brand President's Choice are, IMHO, better and cost $1.99!!! |

Ferrero presents 4evrnewB our endorser: "Hi musicians, if you wanna play hard but with a bit taste of sweet do like me, use Ferrero Rocher Boxes!".
And now also in the Austrian variation: Mozart's balls!
