My SD-1 has a little switching issue...
it sometimes doesn't wan't to be shut of.
no matter how much i press the switch, it doesn't turn of...
but, if i melt the solder on the legs of the 220pF caps in the switching circuit, it will work as usual...
then, i have another problem, everytime i switch the pedal on it makes a "popping" noise, any thoughts on this? |

I would try to put a different op-amp (use an 8-DIL socket if you decide to go with my suggestion).
Over the years I had many issues with "pop" sounds that were op-amp related. |

Sounds like a defective component in the switch circuit or possibly a hairline crack in the PCB traces. Soldering the component causes the leads or PCB traces to expand and make contact temporarily until they cool down and the circuit opens again. Try replacing the components in the switching circuit one at a time until the problem goes away. start with the transistors, then resistors and lastly the caps. Also check the PCB traces with a magnifying glass or jewelers loupe to find any cracks. |

| The cap thing is suspect - I'd desolder them, clean the soldering pads up and replace them. |
