Ok so i just picked up a PS-2 Digital Pitchshifter/Delay and i plugged it in to test it out. It lit up and had signal to my amp but the only thing it would do was when you turned the balance knob to the right the volume would turn off. Thats it! No delay or pitchshifting on any of the modes. I decided to open it up just to see if i could spot a problem and i couldnt so put it back together and tried it again but then it was dead. I was using an adapter when it half worked and tried the adapter and a battery after it died.
The only thing i can give info on is when it died there was a crackle like noise through my amp so im assuming something got fried?? any help?
yes of course they are... this baby isnt a quick pop open and get a pic pedal tho.
Now after i posted i noticed the solder joint on the far left in the 3 big ones in the pic below seemed a little off. it wasnt loose but i just didnt look right i heated it up and found out that the board underneath is broken kinda like the Dead DF-2 i posted (laurie will know what im talkin about) BUT i made it so it looked like its fixed... its firm to the board at least.
If what i said above isnt the problem then i say it has something to do with this big cap in the picture below. I only say that because it had a piece of tape hanging off it when i took it apart and i took it off lol yah im guessing its got something to do with joints by the power.
These are the best pics that came out. Help me learn guys!
Ok so i fixed it. Turns out the led blew up or it was cracked after looking it over and not finding anything i put it back together but i noticed that a piece of the led had fallen out. Swapped in a new one and she's alive. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Did it blow up because of age or would that not be possible? Eitherway it cracked in half from something...
