It's a bad sign, my head's not screwed on right"

one of my favorite things is when out of nowhere, a song just burrows itself into my brain, reminding me why I like music (and why I bought that guitar so many years ago, and that beat up Boss SD-1). many years ago, I would go to catch a touring band play some dive bar without knowing anything about them, if I knew that the local (opening) band would be good. every now and then, said touring band would hand my ass to me, and I'd regret having spent any money on beer that night (which meant I could spend less on their CDs or whatnot). but since graduating college, I rarely get exposed to "new" bands anymore.
this song came out in 2006, so it's hardly new, but I just "discovered" it by chance on a compilation CD that I found (still sealed) in a trash can outside a store. (the comp CD had Lemmy on the cover and a song from the new Motorhead album, so I figured I'd get my money's worth for that song alone.)
based on the reviews at Amazon.com, the Riverboat Gamblers have taken criticism for the production quality of this album (reminds me of the old Jawbreaker lyric, "you're not punk, and I'm telling everyone"). I haven't heard any of their older songs, so I can't comment on that one way or another.
all I know is that this song represents Everything that is right about rock 'n roll: fast and energetic, with loud guitars and manic backing vocals aplenty. most computer speakers suck, but I defy anyone to play this song loud (on a decent system) and stay seated, without getting sucked into playing air guitar (or air drums). according to their myspace page, they will be playing Oz early next year, after they complete their new album, with presumably additional tours to follow.
