That is incredible! Guitar thieves are complete scum. I can understand that it is a very enticing object to steal if you can manage it, but they are invariable stolen from small private businesses, where having �2000 worth of stock stolen could easily send them into the red. In fact, this happened to my old local guitar shop, someone walked in with an empty guitar case and walked out with a gibson les paul - the old switcheroo I suppose. While I'm sure they have the margins to deal with some losses I think business wasn't incredible and that was the last straw. Still, she got her comeuppance.

Could of been worse at least it was only a Les Paul..it could of been a lot worse and she might of robbed a strat...... but seriously i think this is very sad that someone does this for money and don't anyone fool themselves here this is done because someone out there is willing to buy it...  i've been offered stuff over the years and was lucky enough to play in a band with an incredibly honest drummer named tommy,who one time bought a vintage stolen rickenbacker guitar off some junkies for �40 punts(old irish money) after being approached at the door one evening,next day he put an ad in the papers and the word out that he had it,once he established the owner( with some guitar related questions to the instrument,with a little help from me..... said instrument was returned to it's rightful owner and tommy refused all he was offered except for the �40 he had originally paid out,i was very lucky to play in bands with a lot of people like this.... ...i don't want to get too hippy about this but there is something wrong about stealing something that people use to create on or express themselves with..all stealing is wrong,and by the look of the shop as jaymzhal pointed out,it's a small enough business and a theft like this could be very bad for it financially......

Hi Franzoni and guys. I have been quite busy lately. I got my motorcycle going and burned my hand pretty bad on the hot exhaust pipe so I haven't felt like typing much. It is fairly well healed now so you can look forward to more of my rapier like wit and profoundly wise comments in the future. |
