Hey guys, maybe ye could answer this.
my bass player has a zoom 506 bass effects thing but he uses only one patch. the patch is basically just a limiter but the pedal won't reveal settings of course. because it's a cheap zoom, it's falling apart so i said i'd look for something similar to replace that one sound. it makes the bass so much warmer and rounder with a much tighter response at all ends. i mean tha actual sound sounds like he's playing thru a much much better amp. much beefier.
question is (finally!!) would the LM-2 do this?
i mean the LM-2 as they're cheaper to pick up than the LMB-2
Thanks! |

So you would like a beefier sound from the bass, right?
You could try the LM-2, you could try the CS-3 [or 2 or 1, all depending on what you can find~and would like to pay~]
Okay you may think I need a limiter, but think again, as a compressor can do the same job as well, just sound a little different
A really good allround compressor to do this job could be the Aphex Punch Factory. They are about 80,- new, but you may be able to pick one up second hand for a lot less.
The LM-2 will do the job, but the other options give you more sonic options.
The Aphex is a good studio-tool as well and a DI box, so really for just that little bit more money you may want to go for that one.
Here is the link to Aphex, as you will notice there is also the Bassexhiter, this could be great tool as well for doing what you want. Yes many tools will do same job.

Go and try them out, and see how you feel! |
