| Hello. I'm a total noob when it comes to multi-effects and hope you guys can help me. I'm looking for a good multi-effects unit, suitable for playing live, with a good sound when connected to an analog distortion/fuzz. I'm thinking about ME-20, ME-25, ME-50 (a used one for sure, I can't spend too much) and Vox Tonelab ST. Good effects are more important to me than amp modelling. Any opinions? |

So you are looking for modulation / delay / reverb? Not for distortions etc? Well in that case i would let the Vox fall out of the running as it is a great tone machine but not so strong modulation, IMO. Due to the strange layout on the me-20 i would choose a me-25 over it(the me-25 appears to be cheaper too). If you can make the stretch i would go for the me-70.
I believe they all feature banks to store your settings in so with the touch of a switch you can change the setting to the next song |

| The ME-70 is great indeed, but I think if you don't care for amp modelling an ME-50 is a better option, and quite much cheaper, too. The ME-50 has good quality effects in my opinion, and it can easily be found second hand. I never tried an ME-20 or ME-25 so I can't tell you about that. |

| Thanks for replies. Yes, I'm looking mainly for modulations/reverb/delay. And a tuner of course. Ease of use is important because I'd like to use it on stage. |

Actually, I'd go with GT-6. It's bit more sturdy than ME-series and gives you more versatile editing capabilities.
I believe GT-6 only costs $20 more than the ME-series. |

the ME-50 is a good pedal unit! alot of very usable effects. I was especially impressed with the Wah, sounded good. Only issue i had was that it sucked a huge amount of tone from my amp! I had to run a GE-7 after it to boost all that it sucked out!!
In the end the allure of all the colourful boxes got me and i traded it in. The tone just doesnt compare to the little guys
maybe i didnt like the ME-50 after all, hmmmmm |
