| Not exclusively, but my main guitar is a GIO. I think it is a GSA20 but haven't been able to positively identify it as such. I'm in the middle of upgrading it. Last weekend I reamed out the tuner peg holes and installed a set of Grover Rotomatics. Now I'm looking to upgrade the floating tremolo and bridge. After that is new pickups. |

My 1st gtr was a Roadstar II. Not a POS by any means but not a jem. (sorry could not resist the pun)
I really wanted the anniversary strat (this was mid 80's so no idea what anniversary) in the window.
My Dad in an effort to "help" me advised me not to get an old used gtr. "Get a new one".
So the Roadstar it was... |

I really like Ibanez products. I really want a nice neckthru Musician.. the price on those is going up too.
I had an S7420 for a couple years. The 7-string thing didn't do it for me then, but it'd be nice to have it again... I've played some nice rare old RGs and Jems some very nice old Universes, and an LACS 7-string made for Meshuggah. Their prestige (mostly Japanese) products are excellent, and their new Indonesian stuff is really well made - better than you'd think.
but
Herman Li doesn't deserve a signature model. At least not one that costs $3k. Another example of the LACK of not-past-their-prime guitar heroes...

My first "real" acoustic was an Ibanez dreadnought-style, which my dad bought for me in 1982.
Both Dad and the Acoustic are still alive and well, but could use some fine-tuning ...

Ibanez guitars are my favorite. I have a made in America 1987 Sabor Series guitar. Custom made - because at the time you could only have a custom order straight from the Bensalem PA shop.
I also have a RG-120. I think I got lucky and bought the best one ever made because this thing plays and sounds like no other.
I also really like their acoustic guitars. I'll get one someday. And they make some really good pedals. |

Here it is. I have affectionately name it Psyid.

Any help identifying the exact model would be greatly appreciated. |

Cool guitar. Do you have the Roland VG-99 by chance? |

Hey kelmaur,
I love Ibanez guitars, specifically the RG series, best metal guitar bar none IMO. I have a few:
1990 RG770 - EMG pickups, black paint, super smooth original Ibanez Edge tremolo, neck and headstock binding, killer sharktooth inlays, plays like a dream. 1998 RG470 - EMG pickups, black paint, locked trem; found this in a pawnshop for $100 around 6-7 years ago, the previous owner hadn't cared for her too well, I fixed everything up and gave her a good home. 1990 RD707 Bass - 4 string, black paint; same shape exactly as an RG guitar with the same pointy headstock and everything, picked this up recently for $80 with case, bargain! 2004 SR905 Bass - 5 string, natural finish, neck-thru, Bartolini pickups, beautiful instrument. 2003 SRX300 Bass - 4 string, black sparkle paint, fat high output pickups that really cut through live.
I'm always on the lookout for more...
