Had a chance to play with one of these at the local music store yesterday (http://www.fulltone.com/tte.asp).
I remember when this type of design was "the standard"... it was the best that technology could provide - digital delay was only a gleam in someone's eye.
Anyway, it was nice. Very, very nice. Particularly when you wound up the level of the signal being written to the tape to get tape saturation distortion propagating through the echos... It was everything that all the others are trying to be.
Boffo, a good one! Shame it's CAN$1400

...the FTE is on my mind 24hrs a day!!!!Hell I even dream about it!...been saving up for a bit to purchase one...$1000 is alot of loot...but if you've ever heard one or a Echoplex there is nothing on this planet like them...a friend wants to sell me an original Echoplex (signed by Mike Battle) for a little over &600...think I'll just go w/ the Fulltone...Yes Laurie they're VERY nice!!!!!!!!! |
