Won this the other day and it came this morning... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=270417674367
Surprisingly, it worked straight off. The level pot is snapped, but still works, the input jack was missing a nut, and the screw for the battery compartment is snapped, and half of it is stuck inside. This pedal also has 3 small holes drilled in it. 2 either side of the power input, and 1 in the center at the opposite end. I'm guessing this was to hold it on a pedal board at some point? The serial decoder places it to February 1986. I had a look inside, and the internals look slightly different from the MIT model posted in the internal pictures thread (page 4). Just component colours. The pedal looks stock. Will get some gut shots up when I get the chance. |

Congrats DasBeef
As long as it sounds good, it's still an OD-2. Good price as well..
I bet it has a few gig stories to tell.
I have a couple, they are a good pedal.

Yeah, I had a quick thrash around with it, and I really like it. The price was ridiculous, and totally worth the risk. I reckon I'll try to fix her up a little. Probably just replace the pot, and the compartment screw. I've already stuck a nut on the input. But yeah, over all I'm happy with that transaction! |

My OD-2 is always in the gig bag in case the twin tube blows a valve etc..or someone wants to get up for a jam..... good sounding pedal if a little lacking in volume to other overdrives....i have mine a long time and certainly wouldn't sell it,mixes well with my MIJ DS-1 which i used as a combo for crunch/lead sounds for many years.... nice find...congrats... |

Yeah, I'm a pretty happy boy. I think I'll maybe have a stab at replacing the pot, or I may get a spark at work to do it. No-one happens to have a replacement level pot for this pedal, and the plastic knob they could sell me? Oh, and a thumb screw? If not, I'll get on to Roland direct.

Congrats DasBeef! The OD-2 was my very first BOSS Pedal, had it for so long now and still use it as a back up for my SD-2. The crunch channel of the SD-2 is almost similar to the OD-2. Really a BOSS signature we all grown to love. |
