| I play several guitars I have built myself, at home and on the music team at my church. I have a Vox AD50VT Valvetronic that I have had for about 18months. It cranks out some amazing tones and I recently modified the PCB and fitted an FX loop where I run my Behringer EQ pedal through. It made a huge difference being able to dial in the tone needed. I mainly use the AC30 amp model for clean with my OD1 to kick it into overdrive when needed. For down and dirty distortion I like the Soldano US high gain channel which really wails for blues and rock shredding. Some of the on-board effects I dont care for but it has a nice chorus, reverb, delay and compression which I use mainly. It has a Celestion 70/80 Vox speaker which is OK but I have been toying with the idea of replacing it with an Eminence Wizard which seem to have rave reviews. |

| 1983 marshall master lead 30 combo. single channel. i use a valve preamp driver to warm up the tone. adds nice harmonics to the mix. pre amp volume on about 8.5, so its crunchy, but i use a mxr d+ to send it crazy! other settings are treble on 7, middle on 10, bass on 4.5, presence on 6.5. really old school 70's vintage rock tone. |

I'm mainly a bass player, but I do have a Marshall VS-30r bedroom amp which is pretty decent, I'd like an upgrade to a small full tube amp though.
For bass I'm using an Ampeg BSP preamp into a Trace Elliot 715 combo at home and a Hartke 5000 amp used as a poweramp live. Into 2x12 and 4x10 Avatar cabinets. Boss RCL-10 compressor and RDD-10 delay/chorus in the fx loop. |

For the metal band I play with, its a Rogue 120watt 2x12. Basically the most wattage for the least amount of money as I have to make sure I am heard over the other guitarists Randall half-stack....
At home, its 1 of the 2 Epi Valve Junior Heads I have into either a Valve Junior combo's speaker (the amp has the notorious V1 issues, which I will fix some day, but for now its just a speaker enclosure) or into an old Crate combo that I turned into a speaker cab. |

Musicman HD130 2x12 combo and a marshall superbass mk2 non master volume head with T.A.D tonebones in the power amp stage using el84's instead of el 34's to bring the volume down,it also gives the marshall more of a snappy vox ac30 vibe....into a old vox 2X12 closed back P.A.cab with celestion v30's....i also have some original greenbacks i was messing around with the marshall....i'm thinking of making an open back 2x12 with these out of some old pitch pine floorboards i have out in the shed to see what it sounds like.....i'm not really into the closed back sound of the other cab it sounds a bit too boxy for me,and the v30's are a very loud speaker i think changing to the greenbacks will give me more of an old skool rock vibe as well.....i'm running these in stereo on the gigs........ i also have an early 60's selmer stadium but it does't really leave the house any more.....but still works fine if a little noisy.... |

Surprize I've got two Peavey amps. They are very durable. I have two because I also use them for axle stands when my 4x4 pickup breaks down. |

Hey pedals. It is always good to have gear that can double as something else. Very useful. What I forgot to mention in the topic is what you like/dislike about your current amp. The only thing that I dont like a lot is the weight of my amp 44lbs/20kg now I am getting older, but hey I would be really complaining if it was a 70lb AC30 wouldn't I. I do like the great tones I can get at low volumes with this amp. |

My pv Bandit 112 is LOUD my pv Renown 212 is twice as LOUD They both have spring reverb and they love pedals because the built in distortion is just as horrible as any solid state amp of the era. For my purposes a solid state amp is way more practical plus I can afford to have two of them. When I'm using my CH-1 it works out to 240 watts through 3 12" speakers it's really LOUD Besides you never know when you might get a flat tire or something |

| My cousin had a Peavy Reknown.. awesome amp. I have a Studio Pro 40 from '83 that's been going strong. I really need a valve though, maybe a Fender reissue or an AC-30. |

mid 70s Kustom II Lead 212. its basically a Fender Twin Reverb. same controls and everything. although this baby is solid state. sounds amazing with my strat-o-tele. the thing i really like about it is the headroom. i actually think its near impossible to get a dirty tone out of the thing meaning that pedals sound very natural coming through it. |

| well for my guitars and pedals i just use a random brand 15 watt amp. usualy i try saving for a nice amp (ss) not too convinced of tubes. then when i'm testing the amp i test pedals too and i end up buying a pedal once again. for my bass i have a Cube-100 bass. a underrated amp in my opinion. i find it great. compact power and tone. I like my bass clean so thats why i managed to save up for something better than a 15 watt random brand. |

Hi Nosi0, I have tried the Roland cubes and I think they are great value amps. Great sound.
I use a Fender Blues Junior (tweed one). Not too loud to play at home and can be cranked for decent volume when gigging. I normally would plug into a DI box and PA though so don't get the chance often to crank it. |
