Hi All -
I frequently like to add controls to my Boss stuff, but hate drilling holes in the boxes (especially when I have a change of heart).
Does anyone know of sources that have dual concentrics? That is, two separate pots in one? I need basically popular sizes - 50K, 100K, etc.
And extra brownie points for anyone who knows of mini knob sources for dual concentrics. And triple dog dare points for a supplier in North America.
I don't think that Small Bear has them, but I'll double check. And you can spend hours with Mouser's website trying to locate certain things.
Thanks! |

My experience is that these are essentially impossible to get. I've only ever been able to buy them from Roland, and only then when I can prove that I was using them for a repair - they are very specific here in Canada that they will not sell this stuff to pedal builders/modders.

Just be on the look out for dead or cheap pedals with concentric pots and cannibalize the parts as needed. (evilbay, local ads) I'm have a friends mt2 that i might buy to steal a pot for another boss pedal to add extra controls. Like you, don't want to add extra holes, well maybe for a switch |

Here are the 50k and 100k along with knobs http://store.guitarfetish.com/moseco.html These work great in Boss pedals. I used the 50k in an SD-1 to Timmy mod. The official roland knobs(MT-2,SD-2) look better but these are not bad |

| Thanks Dr. Bob. Beleive it or not, I found this just by chance. I was looking for the original links I posted in fact and found this and decided that I shouldn't be the only person who knows what I know. I'm an electronics and computer guy primarily, and a guitar guy second, so I kind of know where to find this stuff. Hope it helped. Keep on rockin'! Also, what a way to revive a super old topic. |

Those concentric pots are for g'tars and would be too large in some cases. They also look like long shaft pots meant for LP style g'tars, and the knobs would be a minimum in 3/4", twice or thrice the size of a Boss pedal knob. They might fit in pedals that have two to three knobs i.e. SD1,DS1, but a four knob pedal (flanger) would be out of the question. Been hit with the g'tar mod bug for a bit so haven't looked at my pedals too much. |
