Well, saved, it's a big word, but...

Here is the story. Someone brought me some work, on a custom box he had : two DD-5 and a DD-3 in a single huge box. He bought my DD-5 and asked me to replace the DD-3 with his new DD-5.

I asked if I could keep the extra DD-3, and he said yes. In fact, I keep the DD-3 in paiment for the work.

But... The DD-3 is a early version, like the DD-2. And he had lived its life... Just unmounting it has been enough to break almost all the wires that join pots PCB with main PCB.

Fortunately, the schematic of the DD-2 is available. So I put it together in a DD-3 box I had. It wasn't easy, becasue there is a lot of wire, and it's thin wire, easily broken. But after some hours of work, there it is, good as new !

So I got this early DD-3, in a "new" house : MIT DD-3 box, random jacks, new switch and DC input, and led coming from a DD-5. It sounds sweet...

I don't know yet if I'm keeping it or selling it. It's the most collectible DD-3 version, the first one, but in an un-collectible housing. Quite a dilemna...

(if anyone here wants it, PM me, maybe we can discuss this)
