Looks quite different when the green coating isn't there.
It got me wondering a bit if this particular DS-1 was made just before the green coating step was adopted by electronic manufacturers in general, but then the more I thought about it, the practice is actually inconsistent around this time -- for example, my MXR Micro amp, that's early '80s vintage, has an uncoated board, but my late '70s Deluxe Electric Mistress (black and green paint on case, not just black) has a green coated board. So there doesn't appear to be all that sudden of an adoption of the procedure.
