For about a year I have been having fun with my BF-2 Black Label and one of the crazy things about this pedal is that if I set the Manual and the depth to minimum and the res to maximum, the feedback makes the pedal self occilate.
I just bought a Green Label and it doesn't have the same feature. It sounds good, but less wild. I just wonder if my Black Label sounds right or if it has some nasty defect (since mine is a secondhand one).
Does anyone else have experience with either of these? If so, do they do this too?
Cheers! |

| Almost all flangers can self oscillate. It's just about an inner trimpot to set up correctly. |

... and don't mess with those trimposts unless you have a signal generator, oscilloscope, and service notes so you don't render the pedal useless.
uh, on second thought, a buying another pedal is cheaper than the above. |

Don't mess with the Bias and Clock trim, of course. But there is almost allways a third trim, Regen, feedback, whatever it's called, which can be set without a scope, just with your ears. It controls the maximum feedback available when the Feddback (or Regeneration) pot is at max (5h).
And for this you only need a screwdriver. What's the cheapest allready ?? |

Thanks for the answers! I also think it's a good idea not to mess with the trimpots. By the way, I recommend you try out using two BF-2's at same time. Cheers! |

doubling up on the same pedal can be wild.
According to boss pocket volume 1, looks like andy sumner used DM-2 and DD-2 and used analog and digital delay via stereo outs. cool. |

Gus : there is really nothing wrong about messing with the "feedback" trimpot. It's not related to the BBD.
Plus, you will find black label BF-2 which can't self oscillate, and green labl which can. And the same would happen about almost all other flangers.
But if you don't want your green label to self oscillate, that's your choice...
The only thing to remember is not to mess with the 2 other trimpots : "bias" and "clock". If you have doubt, don't do anything, but the names are often printed, so why not do it ? |
