Hello Boss people
First time around here. I hoped to find the the solution for my dead DD-3. It's a Japanese one (big IC and a blue label), so from the first serie I believe. When I switch on the pedal, the led lights up, but no effect at all! So it doesn't matter if it's switched on or off, I only get the clean signal. The voltages seem to be ok. I replaced Q5 and Q8, they were 2sk118 and I only had 2sk30. And if I'm right the pinout of these fets are different. But no luck so far. So I hope to fix my pedal with a some help of you guys! |

Hi pedal people!
I just repaired my pedal a few minutes ago! I was looking in the forum for more faulty DD-3 pedals. And in one of the problems, Laurie said to replace C34 (10uf/16 volt). So I did! And the problem was solved! now it's time for a nice cold beer , to celebrate! I have got a question Laurie, are there other elco's that I have to replace just in case? |

Hi Jimmy-H Welcome to the forum from Australia.
Laurie is currently in Oz visiting family, & has limited access to the net/net connection. I will let him know of your post.
He will be glad to know he helped save another DD-2/3 from ending up in landfill.
BTW - did you replace the orginal FET's, to keep it as original as possible?
Regards Dr. Bob

Thanks mates for your warm welcome!
The 2sk118 fets were the original ones. But the schematic showed 2sk30. I already had the 2sk30 fets, because I had a problem with another boss pedal with switching. So I thought maybe that was also the problem here. I am planning to do the high cut mod, with the switches in the battery compartment. I let you know if it's worth doing it.
And thanks Dr. Bob, that you will give the message to laurie!
See you later guys! |
