Hi guys! Wel, I used to have a SD-1, then I trade it for an old Howie by Menatone. Its a good pedal of course, but it doesnt have the same sound that could get in case I want a Clapton or a Richie Sambora tone. The question is: Should I sell Howie and get the SD-1 back (MIJ of course)? Another problem is that sometinmes I need a heavier sound. Im kind of lost! Help me please!!!!
P.S: I play rock, sometimes classic rock, sometimes country and sometimes a Dokken, Mr Big taste. |

| I can compare them now! I just got a MIJ SD-1 (August 1983). Lets see what happens... |

Back in the day Sambora used an OD-1. But in front of a Marshall JCM 800, so the SD-1 can get close to that. I don't know about Menatone pedals. |

Hi Dirk! Yeah, a lot of people like Geore Lynch, Sambora and Jake E. Lee used OD-1. Sambora uses SD-1 nowadays. SD- 1 is an amazing pedal! I used to have a MIJ (August 1984)and now I got a MIJ SD-1 (August 1983). Howie is an amazing pedal, but it doesnt have that Sd-1 feeling. When I traded it my SD-1 for Howie soon I begun to think "I think I didnt do the right choice". I tried the 2 pedals, side by side and different setups. Did that from Monday till today and Howie is out and Sd - 1 IS BACK! |
