Well, I picked up a BC10 last week on your advice. Not a bad unit at all. Sounds very similar to what I remember the SC10 sounding like, but since I don't have an SC10 to compare anymore I'll take your word that it slays it . Has a slight volume boost like all Maxon chorus pedals, but it's not so large to worry about. Doesn't seem to boost the presence as much as the SC10 did, but it's not 'warm dulled highs' like the CE-2; it's crisp and bright. Delay time control is a godsend - you can dial it back to remove that 80s wide chorus sound.
BTW - this thing wont sound like a DC-2. There must've been too long a gap between me owning a DC-2 and getting the SC10 for me to think they were similar. I had a DC-2 a few months ago and it's more complex. Probably better in terms of sound - though less versatile. But I sold that unit for $200, and this was $50 and I probably overpaid for it a bit. A chorus fan might want to spend the extra $150-170, but I'm happy with this. |
