As it looks from all of us opening them up and checking, yes. it seems the blue label CE-5 is analog.

But does that mean that a blue label CE5 is analog?

Just kidding.

So bossarea, the CE-5 has really taken the place of the CE-2 on your pedal board?? Can you nail the various CE-2 sounds with the CE-5?

Would most people out there agree?

I've been looking for a CE-2 for ages but ended up buying a CE-5 today (cos I got a good deal), although I was completely unaware of this topic! It's currently making its way to me thru the Irish postal system so won't be able to try it out for another few days. Anyway, I was thinking that I'd probably sell it after a while and get the CE-2 I'd always wanted. So you can imagine how very surprised I was to read that the CE-5 is THAT good. I thought the CE-2 was untouchable from what I'd been reading on this forum, especially the "Best Chorus" topic and on Harmony Central!

I found the quality of the CE-5 to be a real positive surprise. It doesn't sound exactly like the CE-2 but it's quite close. In addition it's got some chorus sounds that the CE-2 doesn't have. It hasn't exactly taken the CE-2's space on my pedal board though. I keep switching round things all the time so right now I'm using a DC-2 for chorus.
