Hi Guys
here is a link to the Jim Dunlop site for the:
Buddy Guy Signature Wah --- BG-95.

http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=302&pmh=products/p_and_e_detail

Please listen to the two (2) samples, on the lower right of the page.

This is one Awesome sounding, throaty wah.
It's been a long time since I heard a wah sound this good & this expressive.
They claim it uses a Fasel inductor, but it also has two voice settings.

I don't like Polka Dots
But I love the sound of this wah.

Anyone have a Schematic of this unit, or a listing of the mods that Dunlop did to this pedal?

Regards & Enjoy the samples Dr. Bob

PS- I have them as MP3's if anyone wants me to send them in PM to them.

$355 for a wha?!?!

it doesn't say if it's true bypass or not which usually means that it's not.

Too rich for my blood....I'll stick to my budda wha.

Wow! Just played the two sound samples - my old Morley Wah-Volume sprang legs, tucked it's cord under the treadle and crawled under my couch - Fasel Inductor indeed!

Hi Elijah & Guys
Yeah I know the feeling.
I bought a S/hand as new older Crybaby GCB-95 and it sounded a bit lame.
it was a revision H circuit board.

So yesterday I rebuilt my 70's era, Red Fasel inductor, Jen Crybaby.

All I have to say is
and for Franzoni

I played it for over 2 hours straight, way too loud & had to shut all the door, The kids came, & started telling me off..

When the Jen in in the Up position, Bass part of the sweep, it starts to break up just a little, & that's with my single coils.

God this is a great sounding Wah.
No wonder they are so sought after, I got mine when I was about 17 or 18.

Sorry -- got to go have another, much too loud play...

Regards Dr. Bob

Hey Dr. Bob! I see a lot of interesting Wah Pedal schematics and projects on the web. Is there anyone of these in particular that you would personally (or anyone else!) recommend to get this fantastic tone that you've been getting with this Red Fasel Wah Pedal?

Hi Elijah

Yes I know the Buddy crybaby costs a heap. even too much of my liking.

If you send me a PM, I can mail you the Schematic of the JEN crybaby Wah-Volume. you ca also find this on the web with a bit of searching.

Do you have a wah case new or old to build it into?
or you cold just by a much older Crybaby & mod it.

I have seen some kits from BYOC build your own clone, and a few other places, on the web.
I recently found another fantastic sounding wah, called a fatboy
If you do a search for fatboy, fat boy, fatboy II
here on the forum, you will find the link.

I'll just go see if I can locate it............. found it:
http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2434&SearchTerms=fatboy

The company is Onerr from Brazil I think
www.onerr.com.br

But as you know Tone is very much a personal thing, and what I like, might not be your taste.

I played a Budda a few weeks ago, nice, but it was at a live gig, and it's hard to be really subjective, under the pounding drive of a Blues band, running under full steam.

Hear great thing about the Teese as well.

Are you looking for any particular schematic? as the Jen Crybaby is a very simple beast.

You can sometimes find a Jen on evilBay, but a 70's wah is going to look a bit beat up, it it's been used.
Mine was in storage for many years.

If you are super keen, to build something, I could search for all my wah documents & links, but it can be all too confusing.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Bob, That's great for now thanks! I should be able to follow up on the leads you've given - no reason why I can't build one as you say it's fairly simple - just need the magic (toroidial?) inductor

I recently picked up a Morely Volume and a Morley Wah (the chrome giant's) Once I find the schematic to work with, I can decide if I want to build it into one or the other. The Morley wah, while being a late 70's vintage is a bit tame - more for 'polite' accenting of clean chords.

I like the sound of your choice of live music - no chance you and your mates are on YouTube? Be neat to see the pedal in action!
