All surface mount SMD-SMT chip caps, resistors, diodes & transistors.
There must be a few hundred dollars, of SMD parts just n the face of that thing.
Did they mention what kind of pedal it was? (Orgasmatron?)

I suppose with enough dead Digitech X-series pedals in a repair shop.. or warranty-junked cheapie amps, those components might be in abundance.
It is a work of art, though. Very nicely executed.
