I'm thinking about picking up the Voice of Saturn Sequencer for my Moog synth:

These units are available in parts, kit, or fully assembled form & are very affordable. Of course when I get the sequencer, I plan to mod the k-rap out of it & already posted some ideas at the site. Too bad it would take too much work to turn it into a full 16-step sequencer; I'm not looking for That much work.
