Mine hisses a little bit. Brand new MIT. I know that some people it bothers them but it's not really all that bad for me. Besides you don't hear it when you're playing anyway.
Any, ANY extra EQ will give you hiss if you dail in excessively in the highband range. Just turn up the treble of your amp and listen out to what you get.
