I had one a long time ago and i have No Idea what ever happened to it. I would like to have one again. How much would be considered a pretty good deal on one of these in 2007 other than free :R]

how much difference in price between a 'disortion and feedbacker' and a 'feedback and distortion'.
i have a feedbacker and distortion, but i know someone selling a 'distortion and feedbacker' for AUD$80 which is about US$70.
is it worth getting?

On average you will probably have to pay a bit more than Gizzorge and sp-1 payed for theirs. I guess about $110-$130 would be normal while the Super Dist version would take you to 150.

great sound. not quite as harsh as the DS- i find, very smooth and one of the few distortions that sounds good the louder you turn. i LOVE the feedback function, but the only downside is you have to use the DF-2s distortion if you want to activate the feedbacker. i wish boss made a "feedbacker pedal" with no distortion.

StratoSphere Agreed. I wish they had the feed back effect only too.

The feedback has some limits, but you can come around that by hitting a new note as soon as you release the pedal.

I would love to see a E-Bow type pedal (with some delay/ feedback functions) that works like the DF-2, but changes the note with your playing not just grabbing the one note at a time.

E-bow and the DF-2 are different animals..

The DF-2 looks great on paper but doesn't live up to expectations. If I had to keep one I would keep the E bow...

I once owned a DF-2 when they first came out. The distortion side was allright, but imho not much different from a DS-1.
I found the feedback function more like a gimmick. Maybe useful on bedroom levels, but nowhere near "natural" feedback. Too slow for live-use, and creating lefthand string vibrato after the "feedback" was generated resulted in a dissonant tone.

The feedback function of DF-2 is not very good at duplicating a guitar that are feedbacking the natural way, but as a sonic effect I think it is useful. Think of it more as a synthesizer tone generator or something like that.
You can send the feedbacked tone to phasers, delays, flangers etc and get quite amazing sounds.
DF-2 is a funny tool if you use it this way and dont expect it to act like a Sustainiac or something like that. And dont forget that DF-2 came in the eighties, before anything like it (E-bow was earlier but works in a completely different way).

Used as a sustainer/feedbacker the secret of DF-2 is to make the sustained notes rather short and at exactly the same time you release the pedal you hit another note, hard, and continue with the lead (or whatever you do). Then the abrupt ending of the sustained note wont be heard.

I've never tried one, but am i right in thinking that the eBow only works on one string at a time?
