On my HM-2, if (in a scale 0-10) I put it at 0 and rise the dist-knob to about 2 there is a dramatic rise in distorsion, then nothing happens between 2 and 8 (no more increase in distorsion).
But after about 8 ther is another dramatic rise of dist.
The pedal doesnt sound bad on any setting, but is this the normal way this pedal works??

That's exactly how mine works too.

Anyone else? Are all HM-2s like this?

The ones that i've tried do the same thing. i also thought that it might just be the pedal, but i've found it on all of the HM2's. I think that they cleaned up the glitch on the HM3.

I haven't used my HM2s in a while, but that sounds quite familiar!

My HM-2 is the same. I wondered if it was supposed to be this way when I tested it for the first time. But it seems so, after reading this thread.

I was wondering this as well for some time.
Last year I asked someone who lives here: http://www.jaquesstompboxes.com initially he wondered whether the problem had to do with the powersupply I was using. But nope, the pedal is just designed like that.

Isn't it intresting that we hear the same things is these pedals? ......we all must be freaks

You should really check out [if you already do not know it] Jaques site, it is very good, lots of funstuff, and yes....he also like some of the Boss pedals!!

Sorry for bumping a 3 year old threat, but at least now I know there's nothing wrong with my HM-2, it's supposed to be like that.

Interesting to say, at least

Yep, I even updated the main HM-2 page a while back to reflect this.
