I have a boss od-1. Everywhere I read that they have been in production from 1977 to 1985, but when I enter my serial number it gives july 1988 as production date. The serial nummber is 922111 and is on the inside of the pedal. Can someone enlighten me? Greetz Stef

July-88 sounds correct. I've seen 2 other OD-1s made July-88 but none made any later so this may very well be the last month of production. We'll probably never know for sure. The different pedal pages gives a sale period. This is the official information from Boss marketing about when they marketed the pedal. In most cases it reflects the production period very well but in some cases the production span is shorter or longer.
Some of the worst examples are
CE-2 Sale: Oct 1979 to Nov 1982. Estimated production: June 1979 - Nov 1990
OD-1 Sale: Nov 1977 to Jul 1985. Estimated Production: Nov 1977 - July 1988
PW-2: Sale: Aug 1996 to Oct 2000 Production: July 1996 - March 1997
