| For the SD-1 owners/users here, how are you primarily using your SD-1? I just acquired a used SD-1 to use as a "boost" for my DS-1 distortion and solos. I knew that was how Zack Wylde and others used the SD-1. However, I am pleasantly surprised at how well my SD-1 works as a basic overdrive pedal, similar to my old Tubescreamer. I didn't expect this. So, how and why are you using yours? Thanks. |

| Most of the time i use it as a basic overdrive for '80's rock, i prefer my SD-1 above my OD-1. |

Just as you say yourself. use it as a boost to kick you amp, preferably a tube amp. you can slam the SD-1 by saying things like " ...sucks bass, too dry, compresses the sound to much" ,witch are all true, but then you have the character, and man its some serious character...yeah, i love my SD-1. |

I use it as a solo boost in front of my already overdriven Marshall tube amp. I did the Monte Allums mod on it, cause the stock pedal loses too much low end for my taste. |

my sd-1 sits between a ds-1 and an od-1. i can use it as standalone od, or have it boosted by the od-1 or use it to boost the ds-1. the od-1 also is used to boost the ds-1.

| Last night I was getting some nice Lynyrd Skynyrd and vintage Aerosmith tones with my SD-1. It's a good match with my Peavey Wolfgang and amps. Again, I never expected it to serve me as anything more than a Boost. I am so pleased with it. |

| The SD-1 one is my favorite pedal. I just run it in front of my mesa for extra "crunch". The gain on the pedal is only set at about 2 or 3, but that's all I need. |

| I use my SD-1 as an overdrive on an already dirty tube amp, with a little bit of boost (Level), very little tone, and moderate Drive (I usually adjust the Drive depending on the output of the guitar's pickups). unless the amp is set clean, my SD-1 is always on. |
