I tried using a volume pedal, not a dedicated Boss one, but just one I have and...............it works but guess what?

The travel starts up side down compared to any conventional Wah pedal So with the pedal pushed UP you are in the higher frequency range, press pedal down and you are in the lower regions on your freqencies.

Tried even putting a DI-box in between to change the high impedance to low, this experiment did not work at all, did several rewiring jobs but again, no success here so impedance cannot be the issue.

Okay all in all an expression pedal which works "upside down" is not a problem, as you can get used to it, and also it sounds different, but was just wondering if anyone else here has similar experiences.

I did try a Boss expression pedal in a shop, but the shop was full of people, lots of folks trying out all kinds of things, and I just had the FT-2 for 1 day, and I guess I did not set the filter in the right way, as my experiences where similar to using a non-Boss volume pedal.

Will go back again at some time this week to see if there are any differences, but in the meantime perhaps some of you could shine some light on this matter.

Oh the Wah sound from the FT-2 is nothing like a Dunlopp, very different experience, it is not as raw and much smoother, I do like it but feel is very very different.........but then I am not always in a Rock mode so I guess this could be a good thing too

It would be very cool if it was the FZ-2
The old PD-1 had some functionality like that. The amount of distortion could be varied using the pedal. It was never a big seller so may be the idea sucked.

The FZ-2 with an expression pedal? Yeah cool idea, well I have George Dennis pedal, maybe it is called "Tubedrive" not sure, but it does have an expression pedal too, so you just control the amount of drive. Nothing exhiting really, but useful, and the George Dennis is a good one too, but back to my question.......................

Using the FT-2 with an expression, anyone else here where you travel is "upside down"?
Cheers.

Can answer my own question now as I checked again yesterday in shop.

Using a dedicated Boss-expression pedal is fine, you will have no issues regarding "Upside Downside" travel with the pedal.

You can use non-Boss expression pedals, but you need to check about the travel of the pedal, or just reinvent your Wah-technique

On the whole I like the Wah sounds this pedal can give you, and since I have tried it with a Boss expression pedal, it seems that there is a lot more colour in the pedal than what I first thought. It can give you very subtle Wah-sounds.

Did you try to select the "up/down" switch in every position? I tried in on both w/ my Morley volume pedal and got two different reactions...

I think I did try that as well. I also tried it first with a Morely Volume, since that is the only one I had, but the Wah is upside down, as I mentioned before, with the dedicated Boss expression pedal you do not have any of those problems.
