I have a blackstar dual & distx.
I'm full on addicted to Blackstar atm, I really want one of their amps.
I generally want a Nova delay & Verbzilla for my delay/reverb, but currently only a CE-2 for modulation. I wonder how the Modulator pedal is going to be, usually multi effects like that fail - but this is blackstar.
hmmmm. I suppose they all require the freaking annoying power supply though.

Funny, I was talking to my dad the other day about how I'm pretty sure Blackstar will take over the world soon.

nice.....
it's like the 3 marshall pedals on steroids.... marshall released those three at the same time as well.... wonder if they are using the same code base for the digital part of those pedals. |

I've not owned any Blackstar products as I'm purely a Boss/EHX person really. However the cosmetics department @ Blackstar really do a great job... Even if they sound crap thtey look great Will have to try one out! |

Start collecting these babies(!) and you are going to need one big pedal board. I do love my HT Drive but I am not sure I need or even want any of these right now. Although if that modulation pedal cracks a leslie or univibe sound... oh bugger... here I go again. Does seem like they are in tune with want people want, analogue vs digital and certainly no nasty COSM. If they ever make a wah it should be interesting.
Actually although they are big, the mod pedal could potentially replace three pedals on my board as I never combine them, the PH-1, TR-2 and CE-5 plus add the rotary sound. Less cables, buffers etc, interesting proposition. |

The Dual & Distx are literally the two greatest od/dist I've ever played. I tried out loads till I settled on the Blackstars. Literally tone in a box.
Not sure about these modulations though, they're massive (2 and a half boss compact pedals aprox.) & it seems like a lot of board space to use up for modulation, I don't mind it for drive because I'm getting REAL tube distortion. But I'm not to sure on REAL tube modulation |

I wonder if these delays/mods are truly analogue or if there is a DSP or ASIC hiding in there and the tubes are just for signal input / output conditioning...... |

well COSM is just a fancy term for saying "we tried to recreate the sound of an analog circuit in the digital domain"
those new pedals certainly are DIGITAL - at least the wet portion of it.....
would be interesting to see if the delay uses the tube to saturate the repeats..... which might be tricky though since on a typical delay the repeats get more and more saturated the quieter they get... hard to replicate that with a tube where it's the other way around...
my guess is they just use the Tube after the mix (like the T-Rex Room Mate)
I just asked them if the dry signal is digitized as well or if it goes straight to the mix portion and then into the tube without running thru any converters. |

"VALVE EFFECTS PERFORMANCE Combining real valve tone with the flexibility of digital technology these pedals deliver eight stunning reverb, delay or modulation effects." |

I don't think id buy them as I've got everything I need in the delay/mod department.
Maybe I would buy the reverb but they are quite expensive. Plus I wana try out the FRV-1...even if it is cosm, its had a lot of nice reviews.
+ 1 ollie. The dual kills ANY overdrive/dist I've played, including amp dist on tube amps I've tried out. Have you tried swapping the old tube out for a gold tipped tungsol 12ax7 yet? Its worth it..
Also, +1 on the power supply problem, but that's what you get when you use a tube pedal I guess |

I know but I still don't like it

Great! I don't have to bother looking at them now.

Mono inputs but stereo out.... ...they might of missed out on a oppotunity there....but have to say that look very tasty ...valve driven effects....[:I..for example the modulation pedal combines several different effects in one pedal...this is what Boss should have done with the CE-20..put the RT-20,TR-2,BF series,CE series ETC into one pedal ...MT-20...?...... |

Check out the demo here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-fxnMkLuuA&feature=player_embedded
The modulation sounds pretty sweet, tremolo sounds a bit naff but the rest of the effects. I like to combine my TR-2 with Chorus so I might keep the Tremolo & use it with the HT-MOD if I like it.
The Delay's tape & and analog sim sound's pretty authentic, same with the reverb too. I liked the surf tone he get's at the very end.
Worth checking these bad boys out. Should be out Late May - Early June. |

| I actually think the Blackstar HT pedals don't look so good. Though the sound is what it's all about and that is pretty damn good. |

Hi Guys In the demo, I see Jamie is using a Dunlop DC-Brick to power all the pedals. And not the individual plug packs.
Link to the DC-Brick http://www.jimdunlop.com/index.php?page=products/pip&id=286

| I can't seem to find any technical specifications on any of the HT pedals on their website. |
