Read that both HM-2 and PW-2 was a "simulation" of a overdriven Marchall amp. But did they have any specific amp in mind when they did OD-1 or SD-1? Ex Vox, Fender etc, or is the similation just a basic overdriven tube amp?
but the HM-2 to me sounds like it was trying to simulate a late 70's marshall super lead cranked to 11 with the aid of a fairly transparent overdrive and/or a mild fuzz/distortion.
Do to cash flow restrictions, I had to sell my PW-2 a few days ago but I'd say you could definitely get it sound like a marshall hopped up on bass and mids if you turned down the drive and eq'd the "muscle" and "fat" right although I can't tell you what model as I'm not too familar with Marshals.
based on the very brief experiences i've had with PW-2's, i felt they were a bit like a marshall jcm900 with the gain up going through a cab with fairly "dry" sounding speakers (e.g. vintage 30's).
