I had problems with annoying noice with my Carvin Vintage 33, I was thinking of replacing the electrolytes, I had changed the power tubes (needed anyway). A friend told me to spray the jacks with contact cleaner, it worked!
A little thing i picked up from the guy on eurotubes was to spray a little bit of switch cleaner on the pins of one of the old tubes/valves coming out of the amp and use it to clean the tube socket for the new tube to prevent arcing.... work it in and out of the socket a few times and spray/repeat for each tube.... |
