Hi midibuddy
You didn't mention the type of pickup that you will-might be using.
Yu could always put a compressor or limiter between the guitar & the amplifier, for an added measure of safety.
I plug my 7ender Piezo/pre-amp Acoustic cutaway into my 7enfer valve amp. With out any problems.
But I guess with nylon string, you'll be using some sort of internal Mic for a pickup?
Regards Dr. Bob |

hi there!
I will be using the internal pickup the guitar has. It's a Takamine, with nylon strings and the jack on the bottom of it, and the usual EQ and volume knobs on the side of the guitar (actually its the "top" of the guitar when you sit and put it on playing position). It uses a 9V battery... the usual electro-acoustic guitar configuration...
So Dr. Bob, do you think it might be any kind of danger to my amp or my speakers?
Thanks! |

i don't see how it could to be honest....the sound might be a bit limited with the guitar speakers as their not really voiced for acoustic instruments..i used to put my mandolin through the pedalboard into the amp with no bother except it didn't sound great....these days i put it (or if i bring my acoustic) via a ge7 straight into the P.A with a little bit of reverb at the desk....i find i get a more natural sound this way..... but back to your original question i don't think you will do any damage to the amp or speakers..... |

My acoustic guitar, a cheap one from Stagg with a built in passive pickup (but forget I ever admitted this ) sounds like shit on my guitar amp, a Marshall VS30 but sounds pretty good on my bass amp (Trace Elliot 715 combo). This could be because a bass amp has a far greater frequency response. |

yep.. i'm using a seymour twin tube overdrive pedal these days...i use it instead of the od2 and the ds1...it's more 'amplike' to my ears... the crunch channel cleans up great when you roll the volume of the guitar back and the lead channel is great for old skool heavy rock or for fat lead sounds..but i actully like the crunch channel flat out pushed with the cs3..it has a great spanky sound with a bit of bite when i use the strat..i'm getting some great tones using the middle pickup on the strat on it's own..but i use all of them during the course of a gig..... |
