Yep, love mine too. Had to dismantle mine and clean up the metal work and spray clear lacquer inside the pedal to stop the rust in the seams. Gotta love those Russians!

A used MXR Dyna Comp, nice compressor, and a new Blackstar HT-Drive for half of the price.

http://www.blackstaramps.co.uk/products/ht/htdrive.html

The Blackstar uses a 12AX7WA (Sovtek) running on 300 volt, of course I swapped the Sovtek for a J/J ECC803S
This is a great overdrive, one of the best I ever had if not the best. What I miss is the light crunch tones, they are only on the first millimeters of the gain knob, but the gutsier sounds are just fantastic in dynamics and tone, pure Marshall Plexi on near or full tilt!
The amount of filth can be adjusted with the guitar volume, it responds extremely good to this.
This pedal cant be used with batteries of course, there is a power supply delivered with every pedal.

Hi Goran
Looks great Congratulations.

Are there any audio demos of that unit?
I've heard that these units sound really excellent.
(in fact you mentioned the same in your post)

There is a distributor just a few Km from my home, although like many,
musical things, they are expensive here in Oz.

And if you get the chance, can you PLEASE upload some internal pics.
taken from different angles.

Regards Dr. Bob

Black Russian Big Muff just arrived

First impressions - sweet and fat. Very satisfying when you dig in with the pick. [Added later. Just finished giving this thing a good hammering and it has incredible sustain but retains great definition - think it will end up in my live rig ahead of the 'green' muff].

Off to compare it with my other muffs when I get a chance. A man can't get enough muffs...

PW-10 V-Wah just arrived - using it to simplify my live rig a bit - Uni-vibe / Wah from one pedal type of thing.

Not sure if I can fit this into a BCB60 - I'm assuming it does fit but I haven't tried it yet. Also, I'm not sure whether to run it through my amp's effects loop or not - theory & tradition would say no way but I might experiment.

I'm not a great fan of COSM but I'm pretty impressed with this thing - it makes some good noises. I particularly like the on board assorted dirt pedal emulations that seem to work well with the wah models.

A good buy.

Hi The_Doc

Congrats on the V-Wah
I was wondering if yours is perhaps a newer model?

Mine is a couple of years old now & has such a dramatic (frightening) boost in volume,
when any of the dirt pedal combinations are turned on - even with the (4) factory presets.
That I had to use my LM-2 Limiter after it, just to keep the levels at
a reasonable level.

Perhaps yours is different & they have changed the presets, to compensate for this.

The level change on mine is so dramatic that it's capable of leaving fresh skid marks in your clean underware,
the first unexpected time you switch to a dirt setting.

And it's very touchy to reset or set the levels, without using a post V-Wah limiter like an LM-2.

Goran & another member posted a simple mod for the V-Wah, about 18-20 months ago, which will allow more travel on the treadle.
And gives a wider sweep on the wah settings.

Regards Dr. Bob

As I have sold some pedals lately (Boss OD-20, EHX Little Big Muff, Boss FZ-5, yeah thats a bad pedal) I had money to buy a few.
Fulltone OCD: This is by far the best overdrive Ive ever had, its amazing in every aspect. Expensive...
Washburn Blues Overdrive: Really cheap but quite good, metal housing and true bypass, a bit noisy.
Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz: This is a very, very good, and inexpensive, fuzz. It is said to be a copy of the Frantone Peach Fuzz.
Three new pedals to play with

A shiny new (old) toy!

I tell you.. this thing sounds crushing. I sat and played through my Mesa Subway Rocket for over an hour, and didn't even get to the fuzz sounds, as I was enjoying the Treble Booster so much! It gave a dark, drippy sear to the heaviest tones that amp can produce. The fuzzes are equally amazing, although I'm not too well versed in their application.. One fuzz (the BEE) is buzzy and fizzy, the other (BAA) is a devastating, dark Muffish wall of fuzz.

There's a little story that goes along with this pedal too.. the prior owner caught it when it was thrown from the stage @ a Wolfmother show in 3/2007. You can see the tape marking the guitarist's (Andrew Stockdale's) settings, which are duplicated on tape stuck to the bottom as well.
I tried hard to verify this story, and found a couple bits of evidence:

#1: From a Wolfmother forum, Stockdale's pedals @ a show in San Francisco (I added the enlarged detail section):
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2557/4087572655_c481b5babe_o.jpg
You can even kind of see the black/red cable twists he uses for power on the board as well. The original link is:http://forums.wolfmother.net/showthread.php?t=33&page=3

#2: A review of the show, describing the pitching of said pedals into the crowd:
http://www.davecaley.com/blog/?p=34

The pedal opens really easily with a couple thumbscrews, and hasn't been modified at all - the battery snap just meets another of the same which leads to the 9vdc jack. I can't find any dateable components inside, and the area which should have a serial number is squeaky clean. Any thoughts on getting a date on this thing? Should I put some internal pics in that thread?

Gone and got my self one of these...

It's got some rather decent sounds for a DI box.

The Tweed (Fender) factory preset is a very good clean sound for me.

I had to work on the British and California settings.
I eventually got some rather nice classic 70's/80's Marshall sounds from the British setting.
The California settings seem to work better for overdriven blues (Fender Bassman stuff), rather than modern day Metallica-esque Mesa/Boogie.

I think I'll be using this as my main DI box from now on.

Hi verivorax

Not only did you score a really cool old school Roland pedal
It also has a great story behind it.
One you can ell the grand kids.

I have only ever heard these in Bee buzzy mode.
Nice to hear you are getting a lot of use & fun out of it.

And it looks very minity as well.

When you get some time.
Can I ask you to take some internal pictures, for our "Pedal Internals Thread"?

I bought a Blackstar HT-Drive cheap some weeks ago, but it had too much distortion and too little overdrive for my taste. So I got a chance to trade it for a Fulltone Fat-Boost vers 3, and that I will never regret. The Fat-Boost is a great pedal to push a tube amp and, if one want, add harmonics and hair to the tone.
Dr Bob, I did this as fast that I dont had the time to take pictures of the Blackstar
