| I have an OD20. I run it through a 5150 combo or a Fender Concert II. Some days I love the OD20, some days not. It does NOT want to work with the 5150 at all. I have to turn the preamp vol waaaay down. It works a lot better with the Concert. With that, I'm usually able to dial in what I want. But even with the four patches you can create and store, some days that patch will work, others it'll sound so digital I wanna cry. But I got it for $100 on Ebay. That was a killer deal. |

| The OD-20 could become a cult classic. I've noticed that second hand prices are already very low on Ebay but from what I've read it's a decent piece of kit. |

I was looking for a cheapish DD5 for the tap tempo fuction (having got a little tired of fiddling with the PS3 to get the right time setting), but had little success - Eventually, I gave in and bought a brand new DD-20 and i am VERY PLEASED that i did.
The tap tempo is useful, but the ability to use presets and the sound-on-sound looper function definitely make it worth the money - IMO, the delay twin pedal is the most useful out of the range: Most "pedal-heads" are probably happy using several different OD/fuzz pedals on one board, but I doubt many people can justify multiple delays... |

You know, Alex_Law hasn't posted lately, but he told me in an e-mail that he is really impressed with the DD-20 as well. So, I guess this is a proxy post for him.

| I've been using the DD-20 for a while and it's great...it's got a ton of options which is good...SOS is easy and the memory bank is great... |

I have a variety of processors in my rack, however, I still run a 'rack-tray mounted' CE20 because to my ears at least, the CE1 and Dimension chorus sounds are excellent. I don't need an exact replica of the original CE-1, because hand on heart, in a live situation this pedal cuts the mustard. (I just need an approximation of the effect for live use.) It's also ideal to be able to tap through 4 stored sounds. Very simple, very versatile. It is however a little noisy (but then many chorus sounds are...) so I switch it out of the loop with a patchmate when its not needed. In that respect, it fits the bill perfectly.
I also run an RT-20 in a similar way. This is an ABSOLUTE CLASSIC rotary speaker sim, and you owe it to yourselves to try it soon. Ignore the gimmicky display (which actually looks great in the rack) and use your ears. It is fantastically realistic, and very controllable. I use an FV300L to vary the speed, to great effect. This pedal, I am sure, will be updated within the next couple of years and when it is, this original will rocket in price (like the original Digitech WHAMMY). Why? Because like the delay, they got it right!!!
I still love my compacts, but these definately have their place if you are open-minded. I agree with the comments about construction - not quite up to the standards of the compacts, but still durable.
MY RT-20 ROCKS!!! |

WS20,
When you use the FV300L with the RT-20, do you have full speed control from the slowest to fastest setting, or are there 2 ranges of speed that you still have to switch from slow to fast to get the full range of speeds. That make sense?
I assume the RT-20 is a stereo unit. Have you tried it in stereo?

HIYA,
I run the RT20 in stereo because it maximises the potential of what is, of course a spacial effect. I find it sounds super in stereo. However, I have run it in mono, and were my rig mono, I would be more than happy with the effect. (I run it in stereo just 'cos I can - if that makes sense ;)
With regards to the Expression Pedal; you get the full range of control. So...with the pedal backed off fully, you get a very slow swirly addition to your sound, kinda like a classy chorus. Advance the pedal slowly, and in real time, the speed of the effect increases as does the rate of rotation on the display. Its really quite pleasing to watch and listen to. At full speed, its great fun. The other benefit of using an expression is that should you be on the UNIVIBE setting (unfairly critisised by some so called tone muppets, most of whom have only seen a univibe in pictures and never played one ) it adds to the experience, since the univibe utilised an expression style treadle.
Love to all |

I really like the Univibe model on the ME-50, but I also have only seen pictures of the real ones. And for $1000, I'll continue to enjoy the pix!
The rotary sim on the ME-50 has a unique sound that I like, but I prefer the Korg G4 for Leslie stuff. I don't know how the RT-20 compares to the ME-50. Does the RT-20 have 2 preset speeds that you can switch back & forth between, or just the expression pedal to control speed?
Grace and peace,
Steve

| Ive got an EQ-20....life cant get any better when you have 9 presets and one user on hand at any given time....and i like what it does for my sounds....really versatile except for one thing.....you cant scroll through any of your stored presets without pushing the memory select button, im looking at putting a button in between the foot switches so i can do just that....hopefully boss will rectify this. Like the ce-20 if you push both pedals down it will scroll through your settings |

I've got the CE-20 and I think its great pedal. Don't know how it compares to a real CE-1 or DC2/3 but they sound good to me. It's COSM modelled but stil think I can get some great rich sounds from it and it's stereo too!

My first post and a big thumbs up on the DD-20. I definitely find it more reliable than the Line 6 DL4 I had before and it doesn't seem to affect my tone as much as the DL4 did as well. |
