| i'm on a dilemma at this moment. Can you tell me which one should i get? a CS-1, CS-2 or a CS-3? I play classic 60s and 70s rock, which one is better for me? i've seen a topic where all of you are saying that CS-2 is better than CS-1 and CS-3. share me your thoughts.. thanks |

The CS-1 is made differently than the CS-2 & CS-3. I own a CS-2 and love the sound, it's not as harsh and is a little more transparent than the CS-3. The CS-1 i beleve is the best of the group, with a high rating on harmony-central (higher than the other two). When all is said and done it comes down to money. if your willing to spend the money on it go for the CS-1. If you don't want to spend that much go for the CS-2. I highly recomend the CS-2 though, it gives me all the volume balance, and the sustain i need and it's never overpowering (the CS-3 can be very overpowering , and tends to sound fake to my ears). Happy hunting! |

I'm using the CS-3. I've never tried the CS-1 but I'm not sure which one I like most between the CS-2 and CS-3. Right now it's CS-3 but I may change my mind next week.

On my CS-2 i set it like this. Level:6 Attack:3-4 Sustain:6-7 I usually use it on the clean channel only, but if i need sustain or i want to have a nice industrial sound I'll kick it in on the dirty channel. |

I read on the Boss Book that there were relaibility issues with the CS-1 due to some of its components? I'm using a CS-2 and I think it's great. It has rave reviews on harmony central but more importantly, on this forum: it currently leads "The Greatest" thread as Boss's best ever pedal! I've tried the CS-3 and for me it's just too overbearing and that horrible clicking is just awful!
Oh yeah, David Gilmour uses a CS-2 too. Need I say more?! |

| Not me! I can't live with out it! Not to mention the David Gilmour connection ( who is a god and has the best tone ever). They shouldn't be too expensive on e-bay. I got mine for $40. |

| yeah, the average price for the CS-2 in ebay is about $40 give or take, but the sellers sometimes charges the shipping cost to australia like it's going to be delivered by George W. Bush himself!! bloody from $15 to sometimes $31 to be delivered to australia. since BOSS enthusiatists are not that many in australia so there are less pedals (about a quarter) that are being sold in ebay australia than in ebay USA. i was hoping somebody can help me find how much is it exactly the shipping from USA to Australia. The cheapest one would do. And also, i wsa hoping somebody from this forum that lives in the USA to help me purchase some pedals from ebay USA from sellers that don't want to ship to Australia, and then ship the pedal to me.. we can make a business out of this, probably there'll be some pedals in australia that i can get for you as well. :) |

| I believe the actual shipping for a Boss pedal to Australia is about $16 US. |

I think CS-2 is way bettersounding than CS-3 (I have a MIJ), CS-1 I had back in the early 80s but dont remember its sound (or lack of...). The main issue about CS-3 is the strange sound omitting when a note is striked, it IS subtle but it is there. |
