I'm going to acquire a DD3 soon and I want to make most out of my
hard earned money...

Any audible differences between the two?

Your opinions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

The DD-3 has changed a bit over the years so there will be differences. I only have the MIJ version myself so I can't say which one sounds best.

Check out the following two threads for more about the technical differences between different DD-3 pedals.

Toybitz,

Tried a few of these, different phrases and different delay times:

IMHO, the mij is a very little bit warmer, especially with treble. The mit is very slightly tinny.

However! The execution of delay is better on the mits! Especially noticeable on longer delay times.

Again, this is just in my humble opinion.

I'd say that if you want a warmer sounding DD-3 go for the MIJ blue label one (I have one and it sounds identical to my DD-2) they have a 12 bit sampling rate (I think the new DD-3's have a 16 bit sampling rate, hence the "tinnier" sound Axewinner was talking about) and i think that contributes to the "warmer" sound talked about. If you can't find an MIJ DD-3 then go for a newer one. The sound of the newer DD-3's are not bad, and offer more bang for the buck new or used. hope this helps. cheers.

Dude... My advice is quite simple. Do the hi-cut mod in ur DD3 pedal and you'll be happy, whether its a Mit or mij DD3's. :)

Place a small value capacitor (.047 uF) on the outer lugs of the pot marked "effect level".
