I'd say that if you want a warmer sounding DD-3 go for the MIJ blue label one (I have one and it sounds identical to my DD-2) they have a 12 bit sampling rate (I think the new DD-3's have a 16 bit sampling rate, hence the "tinnier" sound Axewinner was talking about) and i think that contributes to the "warmer" sound talked about. If you can't find an MIJ DD-3 then go for a newer one. The sound of the newer DD-3's are not bad, and offer more bang for the buck new or used. hope this helps. cheers.
