I have finally got arround to getting the bits i need for my "Essencials" pedalboard. And so i have decided that i am gonna build the pedalboard from scratch.

I was inspired by this pedalboard i saw over on Harmony Central Effects Forum (i think) to make a essencials board, but with 5 pedals, and not 3... Also Bodd ones and noe Dano ones;

As i got myself a new Tuner (Korg Pitchblack) today for my main rig, i can reveal that the pedals so far that are going on it are: TU-2 > SD-1 > CH-1 > PH-3* > Something still to get.

* = The PH-3 is still to be bought tho.

Today, i sanded the wood down, filled in any holes/inperfections, got the saw out and cut the wood down to size then sanded the whole thing down with 120 grit aluminium oxide sandpaper some more. May sand it with more fine sandpaper to get it as smooth as a babys arse.

Anyways, the pics so far:

Pre cut

After cut

Task list:
Make cut edges square and sand/round them off
Paint it a nice shade of black
Attach slanted bits for a 30-45 degree pedalboard
Attach handles
Attach 5 pedals

More to come...

Trust me, im saving as much money as i can, the wood was a old shelf i had up in my room for about 7-10 years. The angle things im using are from another shelf from my room that was up for a simmilar perid.

To date, all ive spent it arround 25 on it, 7 on the handles and 8 on the paint (on a clearance line as well), and another 10 on the roller kit.

Ive decided that im gonna keep my DD-6 and put it on it, so it will be this on it:

TU-2 > SD-1 > CH-1 > PH-3 > DD-6

The PH-3 is the only pedal left to buy, unless i can get a cheap PH-2 to put on it, in the local used market... Whitch Boss pedals are hard to come by as people are trading all their Marshall pedals and Digitech ones for Boss ones at the moment.

Nice work on your little board. It doesn't take long to whip up something good.
I LOVE to see those rubber feet. I used 'em on my own mini-homemade board:

I like it. Simple & effective, although I have an uncontrollable impulse to buy a loaf of french bread now.

It remains *safe* sitting in my collection.

That reminds me, I must build more shelves..

More progress today:

Squared off the edges and sanded them down good with my Dremmel saw attachment and a sander attachment, then i got out the Pollycell stuff and then proceeded to make all the lumpu areas as smooth as posible.

Then i got the handles out and started to put the holes in the wood for them and got one side of the slanted side things (god knows what they are called) and put one on one side to see how things look.

Next up is paint:

Dano Makes some really nice stomp boxes for the price!
I have the FAB distortion pedal and some of the new cool cat pedals
I really dont see much difference between the electronics in the FAB pedals and the Coolcat pedals except the cool cats are metal housings

I am in the process of getting started building a pedal board from 1/4" oak plywood as soon as I get all the other necessiary hardware like hinges, latches and corner protectord I will post some pics once I get started with my project.

Hi ESPImperium

Looks like you have made some real progress in the past few days.

Any chance, you also take some pics of the your Dremel Saw & sander attachment's?

A couple of months back, I bought myself the Drill Press/Stand, the newer version that they call a Workstation.

I really like the step by step, pictorial guide, it might inspire a few more of us to get creative.

Regards Dr. Bob.
