So bossarea, you like to watch Madonna and then recognize a Pantera riff I'm getting confused here
How many of the people in that audience did recognize that riff also ? |

My god, that has to be the most pathetic attempt of ANY popstar ever to sound like a rockband.
She can't play worth shit, period.
And I won't even mention the pickslides and the feedback at the end.
I don't know about you guys, as for me |

I just want Madonna to pack it in. Am I the only one?
It really bothers me how she uses other peoples music and then uses it herself.
(William Orbit Ray of Light, Abba, her dance song)...

Hey Madonna is having sex with the amp
I am going to learn to play powerchords with the tumb as well. Perhaps we can create a new technical trend here for all the people who stuggle getting to grips with a plectrum.
thanks Bossarea for the link, I heard comments about it on the radio from people who were there, but this beats it all!! Great stuff!!
In the meantime guys: Set your metrome at 45 bpm, play double timing and practice different strumpatterns [down mainly] while you keep your tone balanced, nice and steady. Once you can do that, get your other hand out, and start playing riffs in sync, and practice the right move, dance along infront of the mirror.
Next invite your wife, girlfriend, hold a conversation with her while you play through an entire song, report back here how you are doing with all of this, post a youtube link of the progess you make, and let the world know about the joys of playing the guitar.

good grief! now that's a juxtaposition.
I think that riff is in drop-D, so it's not that technical to play (even using your thumb). and IIRC (some VH-1 program about 10 years ago), she played a little guitar in her first band (late '70s or very early '80s), before beginning her solo career. |

I wish this cougar would come up with her own musical ideas.
However,
The effect work in 'Hung Up' is really well done. Esp from 0.00 to 0.45. Kudos to Abba...

My thoughts exactly, what's next? Michael Jackson playing a trashmetal version of "Heal the world" with grunts and all.... |

Sorry to disagree - this is not the first sign of the apocalypse. That was done long ago when Eddie Van Halen did his thing on "Beat It" with Jacko and when Aerosmith did "Walk this Way" with whoever the hell that was - Run DMC I think? As a proud 80's metalhead at the time I about died both times.
This is just the third horseman, so we can relax for now. One more like this and we will have all four horseman and then we have to worry. |
