what is your favorite boss pedal for bass. Right now i have 3 pedals the bass synth, bass chorus and bass overdrive, well and a bass wah but it is not boss so we don't talk about that here. out of all of them i would have to say my favorite is the bass overdrive. it gives great distortion and that rocky muddy crunch that i love so dear. it was everything i ever expected and more it blew away my expectations, and that is why it is my favortie pedal for bass.

Yeah, i have the bass synt and i like it. I tryed the Bass overdrive in the shop and i thought it just didn't have that power too it. I'm looking for a even more heavy overdrive/distortion

I like the Phil Lynott phaser bass sound so I think the phaser is my favorite bass effect. I usually plug it into the PH-2. Funny that there aren't any dedicated bass phasers.

Im not so much for 'real' effects (except a little reverb) cause i think they tend to make the bass sound a little gimmicky. Two pedals i really do like are the pq-3b and the ge-7b: i never realized that equalisation could have such a dramatic effect on your sound!

PQ-3B for me as well. It can give my bass a totally different 'character'. It's like having 2 basses on stage while you only have to carry one.
And the DC-3. Gives a nice dramatic effect to certain riffs.

I really like the PQ-3B, tolerate the ODB-3 (to me it sounds better if combined with a GE-7B, to get that midrange-heavy Ampeg SVT-esque tone), and also use the CE-2B as needed. IMHO, mode I of the FZ-2 also sounds really thick and nasty with a bass....

** and I'll second Britsie's comments about the DC-3 (thickens the sound without that wobbly chorus effect) and the PQ-3B. the PQ-3B gives any bass with passive pickups the equivalent of active electronics. (typo corrected)

my shin-ei companion fuzz wah sounds gnarly on bass, even tho its meant for guitar. the FT-2 is kinda neat too.
