| I was impressed to see that Boss included an analog mode(up to 800ms I believe)for the DD-7. I have not had the fortune to dink around with one yet. Is it a true representation of the DM-2 as they claim? Opinions on this & overall thoughts on the analog mode please. Also curious as to the performance of the modulation mode as well. Thanks. |

| I think it's very good but side by side with the DM-2, it's not identical. In many ways I prefer the DD-7. You got longer delay times available and the echoes doesn't mix as much together as they do with the DM-2. This makes your delay stand out better in a band situation where there's lots of sounds. |

Side by side with my DM-2 and DM-3 i still like the old anallogue ones - especially for slap-back echo.
The DD-7 analogue mode is VERY good though. |

Cool. I found "1" in town to demo, gonna go do it. Unfortunately I have nothing to weigh it against other than memories of a Yamaha analog delay I once owned. Kick myself SEVERAL TIMES OVER for losing that. How is it I can always seem to count on you to weigh in Laurie??? No, that's not a bad thing, I've come to count on it. |

Hi the-destructor
Which Yamaha analog delay did you once own? Pedal or rack?

Howdy Dr. Bob, It was a Yamaha Pedal (DDS 20M).HMM that't prolly digital. Black with aqua blue/green highlighted knobs. Depressed circular design on the actual switch. Nice pedal, kick myself in the arse for ditchin it. I (as so many others in the 80's did) switched to rack-mounted effects. I miss it and will get one again. Don't get me wrong, I still have all my rack stuff (not about to be a dummy twice), but I was a DUMBASS for ditching the pedals I had. Also had a late 70's block logo MXR Dist + & an EH Bad Stone (big bro to the Small Stone) along with a few less memorable pedals. I've been working on re-aquiring that pedalboard of yesteryear. Patience is indeed a virtue. Take care, T-D |

Hey the-destructor
Off topic for a bit.
Why don't you start a new thread about re-acquiring you old pedal board, & what pedals were on it. I'm sure it would be an interesting topic, as we have all been there.
Regards Dr. Bob |

(staying off-topic) That's easy for me - and already done I was always a processor kinda guy (because I thought I couldnt afford individual pedals) so I bought an old-but-good Alesis Quadraverb GT a few months back...

| It's very good, but compared to a real analog delay such as my Maxon AD999 just doesn't have the same mojo. |

| What do you think of the DD-7 overall? Is it worth getting? I read in hamony central they were complaining about the background hiss that this pedal produces... Is that true? Does it affect your tone in a bad way? |
