I've got a SD-2 on its way in the mail. From everything I've read on these forums, it should fill a nice spot on my board. I'm especially excited at the "2 for 1" nature of the pedal. It will join a DS-1 in providing my OD/Dist. tones. Anyone care to share your favorite settings as a starting point for me? I want to explore any and all types of tones with this to find something I might like. I don't want to settle on the same old, same old.
I play mainly rhythm in a casual setting with friends. Our covers run from Neil Young's more aggressive stuff to Alice in Chains to the Steve Miller Band to Tom Petty - pretty diverse stuff with the occasional out-of-place oddball thrown in.
Please share your SD-2 pixie dust magic with me!
By the way, my signal is running into a 30-watt tube amp (2x 12AX7's and 2x EL84s) that I keep set pretty clean.

It can do a quite nice grunge sound, which should be useful for the songs of the bands you mentioned.
I mainly use it for its leadtone, and keep the drive at a low level, the tone goes up from time to time depending on the density of the mix. |
