What pedal would you recomend to achieve some Van Halen type of sounds? Currently I'm using a DS-1 into an OD-3 to achieve that sound but I feel that I need a harder kind of sound... Are the DS-2 and the MD-2 good candidates? I have tried the Metal Zone before, and that scooped sound with a treble harsh overtone that wouldn't go away no matter the EQ is, didn't appeal to me...
What would you recomend? I'm using a Jackson DK-2 into a Peavey Supreme head with a 2x12 with Eminences...
my search is not limited to BOSS pedals only, so I'm open to many reccomendations...

aside from what i said in your other post, i forgot to mention the MD-2 i see it as a great pedal but i think it sounds best used like a OD. its definately got a smoother Mesa sound to it. i say DS-2 or HM-2 for Van Halen type stuff. and dont let the HM-2s "heavy Metal" title throw you off.

I may get the Boss beat down for saying this but I really like my Rat 2 for the heavy and/or really fuzzy stuff.

What should be the difference between the MD-2 and the DS-2? The MD-2 has lots of more bass? Maybe more gain? And the DS-2 has more mids too? I had an HM-2 long time ago, I wish I hadn't sold it...

Hi ! I rarely post here but here's my opinion : no boss pedal I tried gave ma a satisfying lead sound. I used a Marhall Shredmaster for some years and still found it too fuzzy with not enough gain. I bought an AMT California Sound recently, and it gives me exactly what i was looking for. High gain, singing lead tone, not fuzzy, not muddy, lots of bottom and treble if needed. These are made in Russia.

Construction quality is not a good as Boss unfortunately.

One post is extremely rare. Why, I don't think I've seen a post with less!
