Well, I got a new Boss MegaDistortion, given to me by my Cousin Brant from Arizona he came to visit the Philippines. I am basically a guy who was in a band during highschool and college but I stopped after graduation. I still have my gear though. And recently I bought cheap wah pedal. How I wish I could see a PW-10 in our town here in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. I would like to collect at least seven pedals from Boss. In general, namely delay/reverb, modulation, equalizer, distortion, compressor/sustainer, wah, and loop station.

Hi Start off with the RC-2 (Loop St). That's the one that I use the most. You already have a OD and WHA so I suggest the Acustic simulator (I got the AC-2) too spice your loops with. I usually make loops out of AC-2 ryhtms with the built in drums on the RC-2. A layer of ambient wha on top, and then start soloing with distortion. Fun! |

Well i quite like the DS-1 and PW-2 but I guess it depends a lot of what sound you are trying to get. Most of the distortions vary from something that can be light to something that can be really, really heavy!
As for getting pedals, I guess you could always keep trying ebay...
Good luck! |

I would advise to stay away from the AC-2. At least try it out before you get it, but it doesnt really sound too good.
If youre looking for a really good distortion sound, you should try boosting your MD-2 with an SD-1. The mix is really good.
Depending on how much you have to spend, you can find everything you need. You can find a lot of good deals on ebay too. Just keep looking |

...The AC-2 sounds good enough for me with a split humbucker on my PRS (which should be the same as a single coil). It does sound like an acoustic guitar. However with a non-split humbucker most listeners will be dissapointed.
I havn't A-B:d AC-2 with AC-3, but I didn't get good sounds with the AC-3 in a guitar store with any guitar (tested PRS SE and Fender Strat).
My advice is to test a AC-2 (or AC-3) with your own setup as the opinion shifts a lot regarding this device. The Behringer "copy" sounds pretty alright with a strat. Cheap too. |

The question was...What is the meanest Boss distortion?...Wasn't it? That's the title of this thread. I would probably say either the MetalZone or the new MetalCore would be the meanest Boss distortion. |

No, no, he said MEAN...
Sorry, couldn't resist. Do you definitely want a distortion, or are you prepared to venture into fuzz territory, which gets even meaner? The meaner they get though, the more limited their use. It really depends what you plan to use it for - thrash metal, feedback noise etc. |
