The SD-1 in this auction has a type 1 label that you won't find in the label gallery. This is the label that the Boss book claims was on the first pedals. If this label is original it looks like it was used around March 82 instead.
This SD-1's serial number is 165100. My CE-2 and TW-1 produced the same month does not have this label. Instead they both have the label with the black "Made in Japan" sticker (Type 4).
Does that mean it isn't original? I have been looking for any pedal that has the "first edition" label listed in the Boss book, but haven't seen any yet.

I think it is original. The picture in the Boss book shows this label on a black screw pedal which indicates that it wasn't the first pedals that had it. Let's keep a lookout for pedals with similar serial numbers and see if more labels of this type pops up.
