About 2 months ago I picked up an MT-2 at the local Cash Converters. It turned out to have bent/broken pot shafts so I took it beack for a refund. Well, I just bought it back from them heavily discounted and still "challenged", so I have a "hackable" MT-2 to play with.
What is the latest thinking on mods for these? Anything interesting and new?
Didn't really have a particular type of mod in mind... was hoping to scrounge a few ideas and then go from there.
Original price $60. New price $47. It's in good shape with a box. Truth be known, it was the pristine box that did the deal - that will go with my other MT-2.
It had been "fixed" by the store tech in the mean time.
Only really needs a $1.50 "distortion" pot (250k lin). The centre stems on the concentric pots have been straightened a little and aren't binding any more -I'll just need to build a jig to hold he pots and carefully finish the job properly.
I'll have to post pics to let you see how rough the store repair was... His solution to the broken 250k distortion pot was pretty extreme. Anyway, no real harm done - it can be reversed.
