Hey... Just wondering if the CE-5 can be used. I know boss has a dedicated chorus for bass, but i was still wondering if this pedal is capable of working for bass as well without affecting overall tone and quality.

Thanks
Rick

I would say that bass is using a different frequency.I don't think that it would sound very good for it. i might work but might not be pleasant sounding

A former bass player in my band used the CE-5 and it sounded fine from what I can remember. If anything you might lose a little low end with it.

Not a chorus but remember a former bass player in our band messing with my my PH-2 and BF-2...didn't seem to do much for his sound but he was using a 5 string musicman which is a very powerful bass guitar..might be too much for the impedance of a pedal designed for guitar......

The main issue with bass through a guitar pedal is loss of low frequencies. This often happens at the input buffer.

Just checked and the input buffer of the CE-5 (analogue version anyway) is identical to the input buffer for the ODB-3, and the ODB-3 is specifically for bass.

You might be OK... worth taking the effort to give it a try.

I have read on several other boards that some bassist actually prefer the CE-5 over the CEB-3. Having the CEB-3 myself I dont have a personal opinion, but go for it.
